For any audiophile or DJ, this 24-bit/48kHz transfer is a goldmine. Masters At Work were famous for their meticulous studio production. Their signature sound—crisp, punchy percussion layered over warm, musical chord progressions—is fully preserved in this high-resolution format.
CD 1 & 2: Focuses on the modern (for 2004) deep house and soulful garage sound they were curating at the time, featuring heavy-hitters like Peven Everett, Kim English, and Kenny Dope’s own productions.
CD 3: A "Greatest Hits" style retrospective that includes their iconic remixes for Chic, St. Etienne, and Incognito. These tracks represent the peak of 90s/early 2000s house production perfection.
The Soul Classics: Kim English – Nitelife and Kenny Bobien – Spread Love (the definitive soulful house anthems).
The Remix Masterpieces: Chic – Chic Mystique (MAW Club Mix) and St. Etienne – Only Love Can Break Your Heart (MAW Dub).
The Tech Edge: Kenlou 6 – Bangin' — a perfect example of why Kenny Dope is considered a legend of the "raw" house beat.
There is no substitute for Masters At Work. This compilation is the "textbook" for soulful house music. Whether it's the vocal-heavy tracks on CD 2 or the pure club-shakers on CD 3, the production quality here is just untouchable. Every house music collection, digital or physical, is incomplete without this record.
