After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, Saori Yano returns to her new stage! From bebop to funky jazz and Cuban Latin, Saori Yano’s serious vocal talents intertwine with her playful spirit. While still anchored in «Bebop,» this album takes full advantage of Yano’s current sound, incorporating the best of funky jazz and the best of Cuban Latin elements, resulting in bubbling saxophone and sparkling, passionate jazz. ■The recording members include pianist Toru Nakajima, who has outstanding technique and is active in a wide range of genres from jazz to Latin, and has supported Yano Saori up to now; drummer Nobuyuki Komatsu, who has also supported Yano Saori’s rhythms up to now; bassist Kengo Nakamura, who is based in New York but is a central figure in the Japanese jazz scene; and members of the «Soil & Pimp Sessions,» who have gained popularity beyond the boundaries of jazz, Motoharu (ts) and Tabuzombie (tp). Also participating are Ogimi Gen, leader and leading percussionist of Salsa Suingosa, a leading Japanese Cuban Latin band, and members of Salsa Suingosa! New passion and groove will provide powerful backup for Yano Saori.
